AF CryoTank is a joint venture between NCC Construction AS and Statoil ASA. The formalised cooperation was initiated after the successful Snøhvit LNG plant project at Melkøya, Hammerfest. The joint venture presents to the LNG market a novel concept to the design and construction of cryogenic storage tanks.

A new all concrete LNG storage tank design

The concrete slip-forming of the inner and the outer tank gives customer benefits:

• 10 – 20% lower overall construction cost
• Up to 1/3 reduction of overall construction time
• Larger tank size (up to 300.000 m3)
• Substantial reduction in boil-off gas
• Higher earth quake resistance
